‘Magadha’ Sanskrit work is the title of new Kannada film that went on the floors on Thursday morning at Kanteerava Studios. We wish ‘Magadheera’ status for this ‘Magadha’.


It is Bunt Lion Films International by Shetty brothers in Swami Raam direction. It is a traveling soldier story. For that Swami Raam looks at before Christ dynasty of Magadharaja. It is one of the three sons of Yadu. The youngest is normal. He is unique. Whatever he says happens. He is Sanchari Sainika. He is not afraid of death. The issues he takes up are people oriented. There is external force that is stopping him from doing his work. Yet he achieves and moves on to next level in life. There is a little of historic background. Swami Raam worked as assistant and associate director in films like Gange Bare Tunge Baare, Nanjangud Nanjunda, Pritiyinda Ramesh before taking up this independent cinema for direction.

Rahul is in his first cinema. He is a mechanical engineer, worked in Kuwait for two years and in Bengaluru for one year as engineer. He joined Century film institute. For first half it is Nakshatra with Deepti name. That is the original name of daughter of actress Sumithra and late D Rajendra Babu. Vaishnavi Chandran II PUC student from Mount Carmel College with one Telugu and Kannada film ‘Dark Night’ is in the first half as heroine.
